A couple of years ago, the staff at JD Fulwiler & Company Insurance saw an advertisement for a half-night a McMenamin’s Pubs that was a benefit for Loaves & Fishes Centers. Several employees got together on a Friday night, went to their local pub for beer and burgers knowing that half of what they spent would help provide hot meals to homebound seniors. While enjoying their meal, they got to talking about what else they could do to help out Loaves & Fishes Centers and decided to adopt a Meals-On-Wheels route near their office. They have been faithfully delivering meals to homebound seniors from our Southwest Center every Monday since.

The route is shared between four employees and two make the deliveries each week.

“It’s a great feeling to help others who live right here in the neighborhood near our office,” said John Scheidt. “And delivering meals is a fantastic way to get a morale boost in the middle of the day.”

“I’m a caregiver at heart and delivering meals is a good break from corporate America for just an hour each week,” said Siri Ebeling.

“I’ve always like working with the elderly and delivering Meals-On-Wheels allows me to do a little bit of that

during the work week,” said Tabitha Calhoun.

“I can’t imagine not delivering meals,” said Peggy
MacMillan. “It’s become a real part of our work routine and we’d miss our seniors if we didn’t see them!”
