The Ambleside Loaves & Fishes Center will host a dinner, dance and silent auction on Saturday, Aug. 9, from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Proceeds from the dinner will help provide hot meals to homebound seniors through the center’s Meals-On-Wheels program.

Dubbed “Moonlight Serenade”, the event will feature dinner created by James Hobbs, the kitchen coordinator at the Ambleside Center and a graduate of Clark College’s culinary program. Professional dancers from Ballroom Parkrose will offer dancing demonstrations and music will be provided by Musical Memories. A silent auction for a variety of gift baskets will also take place.

Ticket are $10 for those aged 55 and older and $15 for those under age 55. Ambleside Loaves & Fishes Center is located at 600 NE 8^th in Gresham. Call Carolyn Williams at 503.953.8201 for more information or if interested in volunteering.

Since 1970 Loaves & Fishes Centers has provided a nutritional and social lifeline for seniors through 35 meal sites in Multnomah, Washington and Clark counties and Meals-On-Wheels delivery to homebound seniors. With the help of more than 7,500 volunteers, the nonprofit, nonsectarian agency now serves 5,000 meals daily and more than 1.4 million meals each year. Loaves & Fishes Centers was named one of the “Ten Most Admired Companies” in the non profit category in Oregon by The Portland Business Journal in 2006.
