Clark County Loaves & Fishes Centers are sponsoring a Flying Fish Day on September 20 to help fund the Meals-On-Wheels program. Simply purchase a small rubber fish and watch as the fish are launched from a giant slingshot. The fish that land closest to the target will win a prize. Small fish are $3 and large fish are $5. Fish are available on the day of the event and will fly at 6 p.m.
In addition to the Flying Fish, the event will include an adult coed kickball tournament beginning at 2 p.m. and competitive horseshoes at 3 p.m. Participation in the kickball tournament is $10 per person. Individuals and teams are welcome. Horseshoe competition is $5 per person. Space is limited, so register early.
Events will take place at the Lupke Loaves & Fishes Center, located at 1009 E McLoughlin in Vancouver. For more information about Flying Fish Day, contact Dave Bowlan at 360. 695.3847.
