The Washougal chapter of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #4390 will present a check for $1,200 to Washougal Loaves & Fishes Center on Wednesday, June 10, at 11:30 a.m. Chapter President Charlie Walker, along with his wife Cindy, who is a member of the Eagles Women’s Auxiliary, will present the check to Center Manager Ross Jonak. The Washougal Loaves & Fishes Center is located at 1681 C Street in Washougal. The phone number is 360.210.5666.

Each year the Washougal Chapter of the Fraternal Order of Eagles raises funds to donate to a charity of the chapter president’s choice. Mr. Walker is a long-time Meals-On-Wheels volunteer and is active on the Washougal Loaves & Fishes Center steering committee. He designated the Center to receive the Eagles’ annual contribution for 2009.

Since 1970 Loaves & Fishes Centers has provided a nutritional and social lifeline for seniors through 30 meal sites in Multnomah, Washington and Clark counties and Meals-On-Wheels delivery to homebound seniors. With the help of more than 7,400 volunteers, the nonprofit, secular agency now serves 5,000 meals daily and more than 1.4 million meals each year
